Storyland – A Trip Through Childhood Favorites

Storyland: A Trip Through Childhood Favorites immerses children and adults in favorite picture books, from the gardens of The Tale of Peter Rabbit to the urban snowscape of The Snowy Day and the tropical island of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Storyland engages visitors in storylines and literacy activities that lead them to discover that it’s never too early to develop a love of reading.

The exhibition transforms seven beloved and award-winning picture books – The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter; The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats; Where’s Spot? by Eric Hill; If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff; Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault; Abuela by Arthur Dorros; and Tuesday by David Wiesner into hands-on fun environments. An integral part of the presentation are the enlarged, visually stunning illustration. The illustrations are the heart of the exhibit, acting as an inclusive background for the corresponding play environments. Children explore literacy skills and concepts through imaginative, interactive experiences and dramatic play.
